Costly but Beautiful Copper Cookware Sets

24.06.2009 14:33

There are many different types of cookware sets on the market today that run for as little as fifty dollars to over two thousand dollars, depending on the type and the pand. The Farberware cookware sets are popular versions of stainless steel sets and cost in the lower end of the cookware sets, usually running from seventy dollars to one hundred fifty dollars, depending on what is included in the set. The copper cookware sets are much more expensive than Farberware. Although there are some copper cookware sets that can be found for just under one hundred dollars, the majority of the copper cookware sets are found in the two to five hundred dollar range, with some sets even running over two thousand dollars.

The Price of Excellence

One of the best copper cookware sets is made by Williams-Sonoma and is as beautiful as it is useful. This set costs over two thousand dollars and is made in France. The benefit of a copper cookware set is that it distributes the heat evenly throughout the pan rather than just on the bottom of the pan where the thicker metal is found in most sets. The copper that is used in the Williams-Sonoma set is heavy-gauge and it has pass handles that are easy to grasp and use. This copper cookware set has a Dutch oven included as well as two saucepans, two fry pans, a saute pan and an oval stew pan so that a wide variety of cooking experiences can be done with this one set.

Another copper cookware set is made by the company All-Clad. This set is almost seven hundred dollars and comes with multiple pieces similar to the set mentioned above. This set also has a lifetime warrantee on it since it is made from quality materials. This copper cookware set is made to be oven safe as well, for those dishes that start out on the stovetop and then need to be transferred to the oven. This set also comes with an omelet pan, a couple of sauce pans and a four quart casserole pan with a lid. The down side to using a copper cookware set is that it cannot be thrown into the dishwasher to clean it like the stainless steel sets can do. Instead, the pans always have to be washed by hand so that they stay in good condition. This copper cookware set has handles that will stay cool while cooking, unlike other sets that have handles made of copper that require holders to touch, and has a stainless steel interior of the pans.
